Navigating the intricate landscape of modern fundraising technology requires event organizers to carefully consider both suitability and budget constraints. This comprehensive analysis delves into the realm of fundraising software, spotlighting two prominent contenders: OneCause and Event.Gives. This examination, with a focus on optimizing value through cost-effective solutions, meticulously dissects the structures of OneCause Pricing, aiming to empower event organizers with well-informed decisions. By thoroughly evaluating the pricing models, features, and capabilities of both platforms, this comparison serves as an invaluable compass for those in pursuit of a harmonious blend of functionality and budget-consciousness. Our primary goal is to guide you towards a thoughtful choice that seamlessly aligns with your event goals while also meeting your budget requirements.

Strengths of Event.Gives

Event.Gives distinguishes itself as the ideal platform for seamlessly integrating technology into live events, ensuring attendees have easy access at their fingertips. With a minimalist and intuitive interface, even less tech-savvy attendees can confidently engage in bidding and donations. Designed with attendee experience in mind, Event.Gives provides a clean, professional, and customizable template that beautifully showcases your cause. Notably, the live-streaming features are effortlessly set up, allowing remote guests to participate effectively. Recognizing the immense effort behind event planning, Event.Gives offers free pre-event consulting and coaching, equipping organizers with best practices to enhance donations throughout the event.

Additionally, Event.Gives offers affordable day-of support options, ensuring smoother event execution through dedicated technicians and on-site staff members. From a dedicated remote technician to an onsite staff member who will train and ensure the platform performs exactly to plan, Event.Gives is able to support you and your volunteers no matter what issues arise for a super affordable cost.

Strengths of OneCause

With an established reputation as an industry leader, OneCause boasts numerous strengths in the fundraising space. The platform's robust features, including customizable reporting, have proven their durability over time. OneCause presents a comprehensive suite of tools that empower event organizers to craft engaging and seamless experiences. From mobile bidding to donor management and online giving, OneCause offers a cohesive ecosystem that streamlines the fundraising process. This integration simplifies event management while elevating donor engagement through a cohesive and user-friendly interface.

Furthermore, OneCause is characterized by its commitment to customization and branding. The platform provides ample opportunities for organizers to tailor their events to their unique vision, reinforcing their brand identity and resonating with supporters on a deeper level. In addition, OneCause's emphasis on analytics and reporting equips organizers with valuable insights into donor behavior and event performance. This data-driven approach empowers informed decision-making, enabling organizers to fine-tune strategies and optimize their fundraising efforts. With its flexibility, robust features, and analytical depth, OneCause establishes itself as a compelling solution for organizations seeking a comprehensive and sophisticated fundraising platform.

Unique Features for Event.Gives

Event.Gives offers features closely aligned with OneCause's professional plan, including capabilities for live and silent auctions. However, Event.Gives introduces distinctive elements:

1. Vote to Donate

Event.Gives enables vote-to-donate events, fostering a unique and engaging fundraising experience beyond traditional galas. While OneCause also offers this feature, it is part of their separate Peer-to-Peer package with a significant cost (anywhere from $2-4K).

2. Consignment Items Integration

Event.Gives has a consignment integration with GoCharity, where you can seamlessly add items from the consignment storefront to your event with a click of a button. This quick and easy process allows you not only to add additional items, but also allows you to sell duplicate items to attendees who were outbid during the auction, which could double or triple your fundraising revenue. While OneCause accommodates consignment items, their platform lacks integrated consignment items.

3. Consulting Support

Pre-event consulting is something we all need at one point or another, and depending on what your experience level is with both fundraising events and/or the software you are using, it could be a deciding factor for which platform you use. Event.Gives offers free consulting and coaching leading up to your event so that you are equipped with best practices and little tips to get the most out of our software. OneCause does offer consulting services for an upcharge of $795 for up to 4 hours.

4. Printable Items

Event.Gives has templated printables built to pull all the custom information you provide about your items or events to save you time and money. You can export item cards that pull the photo, QR code for the item, and description of the item from your event as a ready-to-print file. The platform also allows you to export paddle numbers using your brand color, and includes name and table number for each guest as well as the QR code to the items and donate page again as a print ready file. The OneCause software allows you to export the QR code but you would need to make your own item cards.

Unique Features for OneCause

The OneCause Professional plan is a robust plan for live events and distinguishes itself through the following features:

1. Max Bid

OneCause empowers bidders to set maximum bids, automatically placing new bids until reaching their specified limit. This is a strategic feature that increases engagement in silent auctions and can make an impact on funds raised. While Event.Gives is developing this feature, it's not yet available.

2. ACH payments for sponsors

OneCause facilitates ACH transfers for sponsor payments, a useful option for corporate bank accounts. Event.Gives is also working on introducing this feature in the near future.

3. Peer-to-Peer

OneCause offers robust peer-to-peer functionality, for donation pages and traditional peer-to-peer fundraising, where Event.Gives does not have the ability for supporters to create personal campaign pages to fundraise on an organization’s behalf. One thing to note is that the peer-to-peer features are an add on plan that can run from anywhere between $2-4K. While Event.Gives does not have the full realm of peer-to-peer functionality, you can set up donation pages on behalf of your supporters to use as a campaign and you can hold vote-to-donate events.

OneCause Pricing Compared to Event.Gives Pricing

Nonprofit organizations work tirelessly to raise funds for their cause and when considering which software to use, the cost of the platform is of course, a top consideration. As mentioned above, OneCause’s Professional plan most closely matches Event.Gives’ platform because their Essentials plan does not include any live auction or silent auction features.

The cost of fundraising platforms is a significant consideration for nonprofit organizations. OneCause's Professional plan aligns most closely with Event.Gives' platform, as the latter's Essentials plan lacks live and silent auction features. Mobile bidding platforms can raise funds by 30-50%, surpassing the cost difference between plans. Event.Gives platform is free to use, but has fees based on what you process where OneCause has a base fee and then has credit cards fees based on what you process. Because the two companies’ pricing structures are different, it can be confusing to understand how they compare. Previous customers have shared OneCause pricing on galapricing.com, aiding in direct comparisons. NOTE: As with any pricing, please confirm pricing with OneCause directly as costs may have adjusted and may continue to adjust in the future.
