A Night for Harmony
Welcome to the Richmond Symphony's Night for Harmony.
We are delighted to have you join us for a fundraiser supporting the work of the Richmond Symphony.
Our mission is to change lives through the power of music and your generosity will help us ensure the Richmond Symphony continues to be a piece of the cultural and community fabric of Richmond for generations to come.
As part of the Night for Harmony, you will have a unique opportunity to choose the programming for a one-of-a-kind virtual concert the night of the event! Just like a jukebox, you can drop a little money and pick the tunes you want to hear.
Choose from:
- Beethoven's "Coriolan Overture" : Performed by the Richmond Symphony Youth Orchestra.
- "Beethoven 5 in 10" : A somewhat abridged version of Beethoven's 5th Symphony.
- Florence Price's "Adoration" : Read more about Florence Price here. This is a string arrangement of a piece originally written for organ.
- Mussorgsky's "Great Gate of Kiev" : The finale to the "Pictures at an Exhibition" suite.
- Carl Orff's "O Fortuna" : The famous segment from "Carmina Burana" featuring the Richmond Symphony Chorus.
- John Williams's "Summon the Heroes" : Originally written for the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta.
The top three vote getters will be featured on our Night for Harmony. Tune in on February 19 to see and hear the magic unfold.
